a beginning

Hello everyone!

I have redesigned the layout and created a new header, but these are only the superficial changes to Junaluska. I began this blog two years ago with the intention of sharing my own work and documenting my creative development. Since I lacked both time and material, however, I started sharing inspiration from other artists instead. I recently considered the direction of this blog, and I decided to return to my original purpose.

Junaluska is still Junaluska. I am the same author with the same sources of inspiration and artistic values. My personal photography will possess an aesthetic similar to the work I have enjoyed featuring. I hope you will find this little online world just as inspiring as you always have.

Finally, some wonderful news! Earlier this month, I bought a Canon EOS 5D Mark II. I follow quite a few bloggers who produce stunning images with this camera, so I knew I would be happy with the quality and capabilities. [Julia Trotti, Camille Richez, Martin Faltejsek, and Linda Lomelino to name a few photographers.] I absolutely love it. It was definitely worth waiting and saving up for a year, and I'm looking forward to upcoming photo shoots.

I already shot about two hundred photos of a friend who kindly modeled for me a few days ago. I'm currently reviewing and editing these photos, and I'm excited to share them with you as soon as possible. I will have a slower posting rate now, and I'm still figuring everything out with both my photography and my blog.

Thanks for your lovely comments and all of your support.

Much love, Junaluska

  1. I think that you did a great work with the lay-out. But I find it a bit sad that you changed the header. i found the previous header so special! Maybe keep the new lay-out and use the previous header? :)
Anyway, congrats with your new camera-baby!

    1. Aw, I'm so touched that you love [and remember] the fish! I digitally edited the painting slightly and have restored the fish header. :)
