if you give a girl a paintbrush
The newly painted baseboards looked so clean and crisp and white, but the walls above them seemed yellower and dirtier than ever. A small painting project quickly turned into a mini remodeling of the house. We brightened the white in the front rooms, adding touches of "cerulean" and "wildflower path" to accent windows and arches. We took down paintings and photos from the walls, choosing which ones we would keep and carefully adding a few key pieces of art and furniture.
Standing in the empty rooms, I had the need for a photo shoot. My friend came over for an afternoon, generously posing for me. We laughed in between the camera clicks, and we excitedly sifted through my jewelry and dug through my closet for costumes. This photo session naturally turned into another, but those photos will come another day.
